BetterHelp has launched a new campaign to support mothers through the emotional challenges of motherhood, including a three-part YouTube series and a commitment to provide more than 100,000 hours of therapy.
The campaign, called Motherhood With You, explores the lived experience of motherhood across different life stages, from pregnancy and early motherhood to parenting older children and navigating life as an empty nester or grandmother.
The online therapy platform said the initiative aims to expand access to mental health support, spark more open conversations and help mothers feel less alone.
Maternal mental health challenges remain widespread, with around one in five mothers affected and nearly 75 per cent going untreated.
BetterHelp said these challenges are closely linked to the often unseen demands placed on women, including caregiving, household responsibilities and the “mental load” of managing family life.
As part of the campaign, BetterHelp is building on its partnerships with women’s basketball teams the Dallas Wings, Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty. Throughout May, the company will donate 10 hours of therapy for every assist made, with a target of 5,000 hours.
BetterHelp is also working with organisations including March of Dimes and Baby2Baby to donate up to 125,000 hours of therapy across participating organisations nationwide, with further partners expected to be announced during the month.
The campaign will also feature conversations with actress Becca Tobin and former footballers Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy through their podcasts, focusing on the emotional realities of motherhood and the importance of seeking support.
At the centre of the initiative is the Motherhood With You YouTube series, hosted by BetterHelp therapist and perinatal mental health specialist Sonni Williams.
The three episodes will focus on expecting and new mothers, mothers of children and teenagers, and empty nesters and grandmothers. Each episode features unscripted conversations between mothers, alongside therapist insight and practical tools for support.
Williams said: “Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual, but it was never meant to be done alone.
“These conversations are about helping mothers feel seen, supported, and more confident reaching out for care when they need it.”
Sara Brooks, chief growth officer at BetterHelp, said: “At BetterHelp, we believe no mother should have to do this alone — and as a working mom of two, I know firsthand how real that need is.
“We’re building a modern village through content, community, and partnerships that make mental health support more accessible for mothers at every stage.”
Motherhood With You will be available on BetterHelp’s YouTube channel from May 10, with new episodes released weekly throughout May.
