RCPCH/NIHR Paediatrics and Child Health Technology Conference 2026

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) in Paediatrics and Child Health are jointly hosting a two-day conference in Sheffield this December for those working in child health technology.

The event brings together two established conferences, Child Health Technology and Digital Paediatrics, under a single programme for the first time. It is intended for clinicians, researchers, industry and others across the paediatrics and child health medtech sector, with the aim of examining recent technological developments, sharing research findings and building collaborations across disciplines.

The programme will include talks from leading figures in the field, an Innovation Zone showcasing new technologies in paediatrics and child health, and structured networking across academia, industry and healthcare. Delegates attending in person will also be able to visit the National Centre for Child Health Technology, which is hosting the event. CPD points are available.

Professor Paul Dimitri, founder of the conference, Director of the NIHR HRC in Paediatrics and Child Health and RCPCH Vice President for Science and Research, said the joint event creates a single platform where innovation meets clinical rigour, where emerging technologies are tested against real-world needs, and where the future of digital paediatrics can be shaped collectively by those who deliver care and those who experience it.

The conference is suitable for consultants, SAS and foundation doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, medical students, researchers and technology developers.
